NEW DOCUMENTARY FILM OF YOGANANDA
We are very happy to announce that the new documentary feature film “AWAKE: The Life of Yogananda” will be shown during our Convocation this year at the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown. Two screenings will take place on Tuesday,August 5, the first at 5 PM and the second at 8 PM. Admittance to the film is included with registration for the full Convocation program. For those who are not registered for Convocation, separate tickets for the screening are also being sold and can be obtained at the Bonaventure Hotel beginning on August 3. TEMPLE DAY OF SERVICE
If you missed our day of service yesterday, you may yet have an opportunity. We invite you come to Temple Day of Service on Saturday, August 2 to help get our Temple ready for the many devotees from far and away that will come on pilgrimage to Lake Shrine during Convocation week. As always, the day includes two short meditations, an informal morning of work and fellowship, followed by a delicious vegetarian lunch.
The commemoration service to honor Mahavatar Babaji, will be held this Friday, July 25, at 8 PM. Please bring a free will offering in an envelope and a flower as a symbol of your devotion.
Join us this Saturday, July 26, at 10 AM for a four-hour meditation and experience the power of an extended group meditation. Those who are serving or attending Convocation are especially encouraged to attend this meditation as part of the spiritual preparation for Convocation Week.
GROUNDS CLOSED FOR CONVOCATION WEEK
Convocation week is from Sunday, August 3, through Saturday, August 9, and all scheduled Lake Shrine meditations, classes, and evening services for the entire week will be cancelled. The Lake Shrine Grounds will be closed to the public Monday, August 4, through Thursday, August 7.
Convocation tickets for the evening classes and closing event are currently available in the Temple Bookroom and Visitor Center. The ticket provides admission for seating in the Pasadena Room. Individual evening class tickets can be purchased at the Convocation prior to each event.
