Memorials & Christenings

Christenings

Self-Realization Fellowship provides a christening (baptism) ceremony for parents who wish to have this done for their young child.  The service is one created by Paramahansa Yogananda and its purpose is to provide a blessing and consecration for a soul newly arrived to this world.  In the service, God's presence is invoked on behalf of the young child that he or she may be guided and protected throughout life and live a life in tune with divine law.  The service is performed by an SRF minister and usually takes place in the Lake Shrine Windmill Chapel.
